Industrial Ecology
Forum 2007
The one-day Industrial Ecology Forum is being held on 31
October 2007 to explore world's best
practice in designing and developing modern industrial parks
at the University Southern Queensland. Buses will be provided
for delegates who wish to transfer from the Brisbane Exhibition
and Convention Centre to the University of Southern Queensland
on the day. The Forum seeks to promote the benefits that
can be realised through adopting industrial ecology principles,
and demonstrate leading examples of industrial ecology initiatives
across Australia and internationally.
What is industrial ecology?
Industrial ecology is an emerging holistic environmental
management system. It views industrial systems as interdependent
ecosystems and seeks to optimise the flows of energy, materials
and wastes by identifying and supporting synergies between
the organisations within that system.
